Carte L'Afrique Septentrionale
Paris: A. Blue, 1828 ca. 20 1/4 x 14 1/4 inches. Beautiful finely engraved presentation of the northern part of Africa. The map is divided into the spheres of European influence. They are Englis, Spanish, French and Portuguese. These are dramatically delineated by hand applied line coloring. The subtle hue of nations combines with the line coloring and fine engraving to give a dramatic visual impression. A wonderful map for framing. Very good with several minimal tears in the margins expertly repaired with archival mending tape. Item #290
